At FOSS, we are driven by a strong sense of purpose, and we hope you are too. A fast-growing world population means that the global food production will have to increase by 60% by 2050 to meet demand. We want to come up with smarter ways to make the best use of agricultural resources, and to help eliminate food waste.
We now have an exciting opening for an expert in food quality and processing to help develop new software tools to tackle sustainability and waste across the industry. If that sounds like something you would like to get out of bed for every Monday morning, then read on.
Would you like to become part of our ambitious agenda?
The FOSS Software Services (FSS) division aims at delivering software tools to help food and feed producers in achieving better production efficiency and optimize yields. We are looking for a subject matter expert that will share our ambitions and further strengthen our team.
You will help ensure our solutions meet the customer’s needs
You will be part of a software product team that delivers solutions to increase production efficiency and yield within food processing. Your role will be to support the team with domain knowledge on food processing and its continuous improvement. As the domain expert, you will collaborate with the product manager and the software developers to make sure customer needs are met. You will also be responsible to scout the market, making sure that our solution is up to speed with the latest processing tools and best practices.
In order to become successful in this role we imagine that you have a relevant academic background (e.g. M.Sc. Food Science & Technology) mixed with some years of experience. Ideally you:
- Have at least 4 years hands-on experience as a quality manager, production manager or industrial engineer with a quality focus in a food or feed processing company.
- Have a deep understating of production processes within one, or preferably more, of the following segments: dairy, feed, malting, milling or meat processing.
- Are familiar with food processing environments: both in terms of equipment and software solutions.
- Have been involved in process optimization and quality control projects, where you have been working with data and analytics.
We are looking for someone who is inspired by switching from working within processing to help crafting the next generation of software that supports food processors achieving better quality and yield. FSS is still a developing division and therefore you will fit in well if you are not afraid of dealing with uncertainty and keen on working within innovation.
An opportunity to become part of a newly established and strategically essential division and team in FOSS. This means that you will help define and build not only the next generation of our software products, but also the culture of this new team. You’ll be working in an international and innovative environment with a lot of skilled colleagues that can’t wait to hear the ideas and knowledge you bring to the table.
The team is characterized by a high-energy atmosphere as it has the responsibility to deliver new software products to advance the analytics and digitalization journeys of FOSS’s customers. Customer centricity, value creation, data and experimentation are the pillars on which we base our innovation process.
This is a full-time position. Workplace is either in Copenhagen (Metro: DR Byen) or Hillerød at fOSS Innovation Center. Corporate language is English.

All applications for vacant positions will be welcomed and will be considered on the relative merits of the applicant against the role profile for the position regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, parental responsibilities, age, religion, or belief.
How to apply
Our goal is to make the recruitment process as professional and positive as possible. The recruitment process starts when you’ve submitted your application online. Vacant positions at FOSS do not always have an application deadline, so please apply today rather than tomorrow. The reason for this is that we want to ensure a fast and efficient process, which means that we review applications on an ongoing basis. Candidates who are invited for interviews will receive an invitation per email.
